What Is aLinks?aLinks is a free open source plugin for the WordPress blogging platform that automates the task of creating links in your blog posts.
First released in August of 2005, it has been downloaded well over 50,000 times (I lost track a long time ago). Since then I’ve seen dozens of “keyword” services pop-up. aLinks is the original, and it’s free, and always has been free, and always will be free!

* Expandable via “factories” - Factories are to aLinks, what plugins are to WordPress. They extend the types of links aLinks can create. Some factories can even create their own keyphrases.
* Tags to Keyphrases factory - aLinks with the Tags to Keyphrases factory can use your post tags as keyphrases. When you tag a post with a few terms, aLinks will find those terms in your other blog posts, and turn them into links to the tagged post.
* Wildcards in keyphrases - Use the * wildcard character when you define keyphrases to make your links look more natural. With wildcards, the words to the left and right of the phrase in your blog posts will be included in the link.
* Linkify comments - Starting with v2.0, you can have your user comments linkified!
* Exporting and importing - Export your keyphrases and settings as an XML so you have backups in case your database crashes. You can easily import them again later. You can even export in CSV, Microsoft Excel 2000, and Microsoft Excel 2003 XML!
* Easy uninstall - Decide that aLinks isn’t the plugin for you? No problem. aLinks can completely remove it’s database entries and tables with just a couple clicks.
