Suppressed Listings
Our research shows that listings with complete product information, including images, browse node, and titles (parent titles) with less than 80 characters improve the shopping experience by making it easier for customers to find, evaluate, and purchase products. As a result, we will hide (or suppress) from search and browse non-media listings that do not meet certain standards.
We will suppress a listing from search and browse until you provide complete and valid product information for the listing. Even when suppressed, you can locate the listing on Amazon.co.jp by typing the ASIN into the search box. We will also suppress listings without a JAN or UPC for certain categories. Sellers on the Professional selling plan can download the Listing Quality and Suppressed Listings Report. For more information, see For professional sellers, below.
We will suppress listings without a main image in all categories, except the following:
Books, Music and DVD Toy
Software Automotive
Video Games
We will suppress listings without brand name in all categories, except the following:
Books Video Games
DVD Jewelry
Music Sporting Goods
Software Tools & Home Improvement
We will suppress listings without both of product description and bullet point in all categories, except the following:
Books Video Games Watches
DVD Clothing & Accessories Sporting Goods
Music Shoes & Bags Tools & Home Improvement

Fixing Suppressed Listings
To identify and fix suppressed listings, follow these steps:
In your seller account, click the Inventorytab, and select Manage Inventory.
Select Suppressed from the horizontal menu. Note: Suppressedis only visible if you have suppressed listings to improve. If you do not have any suppressed listings, this option will not be visible.
View all suppressed listings on the Suppressed Listingspage, or click on Issue typeto filter by specific type of issue.
There are 3 ways to fix a suppressed listing:
Option A: Fix suppressed listings in the Issue(s) to Fixcolumn by entering the missing values in the editable cells or selecting missing values from the drop-down list and clicking Save.
Option B: Fix suppressed listings in bulk by selecting multiple defects that require the same fix. Then, click Bulk Fix Listings and submit a value in the Fix quality issue for multiple listingspop-up view.
Option C: Fix suppressed listings that are not fixable in the editable grid (Option A) or in bulk (Option B) by clicking Editand going to the Edit Product Infopage. In Edit Product Info, the missing product details will be highlighted and you will see informational messages that further detail the issue. For non-image issues, enter the missing value and click Saveand Finish. For image issues, follow the guidelines on The Manage Imagespop-up and then upload valid product images.
For professional sellers
If you have a Professional selling plan and update your listings using inventoryfiles, you can still useManage Inventoryto make changes. However, you must also update yourinventoryfiles or you may overwrite the changes you submitted through Manage Inventory.
To avoid this duplication of work, follow these steps:
On the Inventorytab, select Inventory Reports.
From the drop-down menu, select Listing Quality and Suppressed Listings Report.
Click the Request Reportbutton. When your report is ready, the message in the Downloadcolumn will change from Not Readyto a Downloadbutton.
Click the Downloadbutton to download your report.
Using the Listing Qualityreport, modify your inventory filesand saveyour changes.
Uploadyour updated files.
