อยากบอกว่า index ที่เช็คจาก site:domain.com มันไม่ชัวส์นะครับ(บางทีมันก็หลอก) จริงๆนะ ลองใช้ site:domain.com แล้วลองกดไล่ไปเรื่อยๆทีล่ะหน้าสิครับ ดูว่าได้ครบ 100 หน้า ~1000 index หรือเปล่า
เว็บของผมมี index เกือบล้านแล้วครับ แต่ที่เศร้าก็คือว่ากดไล่ไปเรื่อยๆ จะไปหยุดที่หน้าประมาณ 80 ซึ่งหมายความว่ามีการติด index จริงๆที่ค้นหาได้(main index)อยู่เพียง ~800 หน้า
ที่เหลือผมเข้าใจว่าอยู่ใน sand box รออีกนานกว่าจะหลุดออกมา(หรือไม่ก็ไม่ออกมาเลย
)

เข้าใจว่าเขาลิมิตให้ดูแค่นี้ครับ
จริงๆถ้า supplement ต้องแบบว่า มีลิงค์บอกไปที่ supplemet page ข้างใต้นั้นเลย
ดูกี่ทีกี่ที ก้อลิมิตได้แปดถึงสิบกว่าหน้าจริงๆแหละครับ(คงไม่อยากให้คนค้นมาก)เหมือนกับรายงานแบคลิงค์แหละ
ที่ผมคิดว่าน่าเป็นไปได้คือ เขาเองอาจกลัวว่ามีคนไปใช้ในทางไม่ดีเลยกันตัวเองไว้ก่อน และบังคับให้ใช้ เว็บมาสเตอร์ทูล ซึ่งเฉพาะเจ้าของถึงจะดูได้หมด

ที่อ่านจาก Google Webmaster Help มีคำอธิบายโดยสรุปดังนี้
1. จำนวน Result ที่เห็นครั้งแรก เป็นค่าประมาณการ
2. เวลากดไปดูหน้าต่อๆ ไปสังเกตว่าจำนวน Results อาจจะลดลง เกิดจากการ collapse หน้า duplicate
3. ถ้าให้ชัวร์ต้องดูที่ Google Webmaster Tools ในหน้า Sitemaps
4. หรือกดที่ link คำว่า "click In order to show you the most relevant results" ในหน้าผลการค้นหาหน้าสุดท้าย

How does Google calculate the number of results?When you perform a search, the results are often displayed with the information:
Results 1 - 10 of about XXXX.Google's calculation of the total number of search results is an
estimate. We understand that a ballpark figure is valuable, and by providing an estimate rather than an exact account, we can return quality search results faster.
In addition, when you click on the next page of search results, the total number of search results can change. In this case, we realize that some of the query results are duplicates, and collapse those duplicates so that you can find the specific result you're looking for more easily.
Collapsing the duplicates decreases the estimated number of results, as well as the overall number of results pages.
To expand your results, click the link to the last search results page. At the bottom of the page, click In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries... .
If you've created and submitted a Sitemap, you can use the
Sitemap details page to see how many of your listed URLs have been crawled and indexed by Google.
