AdSense Accidental Click ProtectionThe Script and Installation
To use AdSense Click Protection, you must be running Firefox with the Greasemonkey (review) extension. If you are properly set up follow these steps:1.Install AdSense Click Protection (by clicking on this link).
2.Go to one of your own pages that contains your own AdSense ads, the script will ask you to confirm that it's your AdSense ID. Confirm it and your AdSense ads will be protected.
The AdSense Click Protection script has the following characteristics:
-After installation the script will ask you upon your first visit to a page containing an AdSense ad, if this is the AdSense account that you want to protect. You can confirm or cancel the activation. If you cancel, the script will ask you the same question on the next page you visit that contains an AdSense ad, etc... until you have set an AdSense ID to protect.
-It will strip your AdSense ad's URLs of their AdSense coding, so as to link directly to the advertiser instead, thus bypassing the AdSense server. This should allow you to retrieve those URLs without triggering an actual AdSense click.
-Additionally the stripped down links will have a light green background and a dark green dotted border for easy visual identification. Failure to see this visual cue means that your AdSense account is not protected.
-The script offers a way to clear or change the protected AdSense ID in case of mistakes.
